rainey
what's is your favourite place in Thai land? where would you say is a must see/visit when in the country?

as in tourist stuff. beachs, temples, islands etc

not bars or clubs!

im planning a full on tourist trip for the end of the year. I got a few places I want to see but id like to add to it and really make the most of my time there.

I've seen everything phuket has to offer, ive been rural areas with my wife a few times, been khao lak, samui, koh panghan, phi phi, koh chang and seen a limited amount of bangkok.

Vlad
Thai pussy is my favourite place in Thailand

Blake
Haha good answer ^

Rambutan
I fell in love with the Mae hong Son loop ( just after the rain season when everything is nice and green).
Is is a beautifull drive full of turns between the green hills/mountains and forests of Mae Hong Son.

Khao Sok national park just outside of Surat Thani.. my favorite place in Thailand for relaxation and the authentic Thai countryside! You can hire a bungalow on the river in the national park which is awesome.. well worth a visit

johnny
sukothai and sri satchanalai on bike imo.
sunset at sukothai is magic for me.

Hobz
I always just liked chilling outside central world and watching the world go by.

Also hanging outside the 7/11 in Talingchan drinking Chang was a favorite pastime

Rambutan
Can we talk about places outside of Thailand also ( Laos Cambodia , Vietnam , Myanmar?)

Blake
For me its not the place, its the people.

Rambutan
there is a truth I nwhat Blake says!
Some of my favorite places are otherwise boring Filipino villages, but it is the people making it fun,
i once stayed 3 weeks in the village without even leaving it and had a great time! ( keep in mind the village was about 20 houses only..

rainey
yer sure rambutan, you can talk about whatever places you want. we considering a few days in cambodia aswell

@vlad, I agree and that is why I keep one with me at all times!

Rambutan
I really love Cambodian people rainey,

take a Filipino and a Thai combined without their negatives and only their positives and you get a Cambodian :-)

Hobz
I've heard a few people say that Cambodia is the new Thailand.

mylittletony
The back of any songtao or tuktuk on a long drive. Doesn't matter where, as long as there's stuff to see.

It also helps if the driver thinks he's playing real-life need for speed.

mylittletony
Oh yeah. Wat U Mong in Chiang mai. That place still has the secluded atmosphere a lot of places in Thailand used to have. Nice artwork too.

Blake
how does Cambodia compare to Thailand? cost wise etc?

Rambutan
I spend more on food in cambodia and think the food is less good then Thai food. It is easier to have real conversations with cambodians and they have a "cool" attitude.... Besides the nice people and the temples in siem reap cambodia can get boring very fast because it is much less developped then Thai land. Not much to do if you don't have lacal friends or family to hang out with. It is good for a short holiday but nothing more imo, I cannot understand the retired expats moving way from Thai land to settle in Cambodia!....

Blake
visa laws. and increase in costs

Rambutan
Yes I know Blake but still.....the could go to the Philippines for ex

johnny
i did meet the worst farangs ever in Cambodia. and in Laos it was the opposite.
maybe only "luck" but still.
would like to have a go at Myanmar ....
:-)

Rambutan
worst farangs imo: Patong

Vlad
Fuck them they just make the best hookers grab me by the dick
To be their risen saviour
