MuayThaiLand is a well established community website all about traveling to Thailand to live and train Muay Thai boxing over there at one of the many Muay Thai camps and gyms.
Whereas it's not the biggest Muay Thai website around it is certainly very high up on the list of the best resources for finding info on training in Thailand. MuayThaiLand has a solid core of regular users and a constant stream of guests looking up information.
The whole thing is built and maintained by me, Dave Tew (Brave_Dave).
I also enjoy making videos and one that has proven very popular over the years is "A Lanna Trilogy". Go and buy it. NOW!! Thanks.

On April 3rd 2001, during my gap year when I was 19, I flew out to Thailand to train at the Lanna Muay Thai boxing camp in Chiang Mai. All I really knew about Muay Thai at that point was some basic stuff I'd read on the Internet and I'd not even flown in a plane before so it was all very new.
I then proceeded to have the best 14 weeks of my life! Living like a king (there were 75 baht to the pound back then), hanging out with my Thai boxing buddies from all around the world, training and getting bigger, faster and stronger every day and doing what I wanted, when I wanted. It was awesome!
When I got home I wanted to show other people what I'd been up to so I made a VERY basic website and stuck a load of my photos on there. I also wrote about each aspect of living and training at Lanna.
Back in those days there wasn't very much info about Muay Thai in Thailand on the Internet so my website gained lots of attention. I received loads of emails from people saying how much they appreciated it and asking more questions.
I went back to Lanna for a couple of months in the summer of 2003. There I met (and hung out with) several guys who told me that the only reason they were at the camp was because of my website. That was a pretty cool feeling!
When I got home after that trip I bought the "MuayThaiLand" domain name (I was well pleased with myself for thinking that one up :P) and set about adding all my new content to the site.
Over the years I developed MuayThaiLand again and again. I was teaching myself web design and redoing my site over and over was an ideal way to practice. When I started learning PHP and MySQL I was able to develop the site from being static HTML to dynamic PHP, allowing other people to create user accounts and add their own content.
With other people being able to contribute to the site I expanded it to not just be about Lanna but to cover as many of the other Muay Thai camps in Thailand as we could find. This has led to the MuayThaiLand you now see before you!

MuayThaiLand is continuously being developed to be bigger, better, easier to use and more useful.
It is also continuing to help people plan their trips to Thailand and to influence where they go and what they do, based on the first hand accounts given by MuayThaiLand's members.
Whatever current developments I write about on this page will only go out of date days later so if you want to see what I'm currently doing to the site, check out the latest Admin threads...
Basically, I want MuayThaiLand to be the best source of all information regarding training at Muay Thai boxing in Thailand whilst making me some decent money. You can't argue with that!
